Memorial/Mass/Service Booklets

When I post about my loved one, it is not to get sympathy, it is to keep their memory alive.

Hafa adai, My name is Vera Flores Dela Cruz.  I just started this blog to help share my new business, a sole proprietorship for design & desktop publishing services.

I believe everyone has lost someone at some point in their life.  I've lost both parents, a younger brother, aunts and uncles, cousins, and even some nieces and nephews... most recently my mother-in-law.

Of everyone I've lost, losing my mom was by far the hardest.  Even now, 16 years later, remembering her brings both tears of joy & laughter easily.

Because of my experiences with death and losing loved ones plus friends, coworkers, and acquaintances, sharing my skills and talent with creating memorial books is a personal and meaningful experience for me, especially when I help others design their loved one's memorial book.

HOW BOOKS ARE DESIGNED

Preparing a booklet of either size that reflects the individual(s) it represents takes some time.  If you are an islander and a Catholic, I work with the 9 day time period to be sure you have it in time for the Mass.  For others with a shorter period to get things done, a final piece can be produced within 24-48 hours and most likely means something very simple and max number of pages at 8.

I promise that I will always remember you, that your memory will always be cherished, and that my love will never fade.

The first funeral mass booklet I helped with was for an uncle back in 1993.  Uncle Kin passed away and my mom and I plus one of his sisters helped put the booklet together.  I still have a copy of that booklet that has become priceless simply because the photos used in it are lost due to a home fire some years back.

Designing book for you or your loved one means I need to get a feel of who you are (or who your loved one was to you).  Understanding this and the memories shared helps me to design a meaningful memorial keepsake, one that can be a source of comfort to you and your family many years from now.

I laid my child to rest not their memory.  There is a difference.

Sometimes grief is loud.  Sometimes it is silent.  Both versions are heavy.  Both are valid.
